Your intepid writerthing was at Motor City Steam Con the weekend of July 22-24, 2016, both as a gawking fangirl and also as a guest writer and panelist. Here's my favorite memories of a wonderful weekend.
The Brassbright Chronicle
It's published, and I've checked over a proof copy and cannot stop hugging it. Tickybox checked on the bucket list! I made a cookbook! And my cover artist, Tanya Paterson, made it look fantastic! Now I can go back to fiction writing. :)
2016 is the year of the Motor City Nexus; a convivial hub where you can dock your airship for repairs and R&R on your journey, where you can have a spot of tea and attend a fascinating lecture or workshop, and where you can let your hair down and enjoy the entertainment provided. Have your passports ready and be prepared for an amazing journey!
In a beautiful crystal pavilion in a richly enchanted land, there will be a special place for literary events as Fantasy Faire celebrates the power of words with its second Literary Festival. Here we shall stage readings, workshops, story-telling sessions and discussion groups, all around the theme of Fantasy.
I wanted to share the notes that I used at AnomalyCon 2016 in Denver, Colorado during my featured hour. Remember, this isn't meant to be a formal article. It's a collection of information. If you find something in particular you'd like to know more about, I encourage you to hit google and I'm betting you will find dozens of articles on anything mentioned here. I did!

I'm going to write more focused AnomalyCon blog entries as soon as my squirrel brain calms down, but in the meantime, here's a handful of memories. I'm still catching up on all the sleeps and figuring out how to get back into the routine of life in Michigan.
Recently a friend who quite aptly goes by the nickname "Bookworm" purchased four copies of The Flight To Brassbright. She donated them all to Little Free Libraries in South Minneapolis and Richfield, Minnesota. What a delightful act of kindness!
Last month I gave a talk at the Aether Salon in New Babbage, a virtual steampunk city in Second Life. There was a record crowd of avatars representing published writers, hopeful writers, and other interested folk. The transcript, along with the graphics from my slide show presentation (yes you can run a slide show in a virtual setting) has been posted.
The Octo-Fairy pictured in this post would like to welcome Denver-area kids (or intrepid travelers coming from afar with their grownups) to a special day of programming at AnomalyCon on March 25th, 2016.
