When I crocheted myself a Twisted Kraken hat back in early spring, I didn’t realize what I was in for. Friends and family immediately began clamoring for hats of their own. And it was such a joyful and adorable clamor that I agreed to make them.
Now it’s autumn, and I’m working on the tenth hat, with one more left to do. Everyone seems delighted with their colorful tentacled toppers, and that makes me very happy. But I’m starting to see tentacles in my dreams, so it’s probably a good thing this project is nearing completion.
I thought I’d share some of these creations with you, and give you information on how you can make your own Twisted Kraken hat. The color schemes for the hats were suggested by each hat recipient. It was always a kick to see what colors I’d be working with next.

Visit The Twisted Hatter at Etsy and purchase her Twisted Kraken octopus hat pattern for $8.00. I also recommend watching her YouTube tutorial before you begin. I found it answered many of my questions beforehand, and I feel that I had a more enjoyable time making these because of that video.
