Tentatively, I'll be on two panels: Eatin' Mummies and Other Strange Victorian Fads, and Writing for Young Adults.
Will I see you at Motor City Steam Con? I hope so!
Your intepid writerthing was at Motor City Steam Con the weekend of July 22-24, 2016, both as a gawking fangirl and also as a guest writer and panelist. Here's my favorite memories of a wonderful weekend.
2016 is the year of the Motor City Nexus; a convivial hub where you can dock your airship for repairs and R&R on your journey, where you can have a spot of tea and attend a fascinating lecture or workshop, and where you can let your hair down and enjoy the entertainment provided. Have your passports ready and be prepared for an amazing journey!
I wanted to share the notes that I used at AnomalyCon 2016 in Denver, Colorado during my featured hour. Remember, this isn't meant to be a formal article. It's a collection of information. If you find something in particular you'd like to know more about, I encourage you to hit google and I'm betting you will find dozens of articles on anything mentioned here. I did!
The Grand Tea
Hosted by Vivian Caethe and Lori Holuta, featuring a special painting demo by Aria.
Tickets are only available ahead of time (before pre-registration closes).
Featuring glorious afternoon tea fare and hours of wonderful company and entertainment.
An AnomalyCon special event! Tea occurs from 12pm-2pm.
I'm going to write more focused AnomalyCon blog entries as soon as my squirrel brain calms down, but in the meantime, here's a handful of memories. I'm still catching up on all the sleeps and figuring out how to get back into the routine of life in Michigan.
The Octo-Fairy pictured in this post would like to welcome Denver-area kids (or intrepid travelers coming from afar with their grownups) to a special day of programming at AnomalyCon on March 25th, 2016.
Excitement! In March, I'll be attending my first-ever con as a guest author. No, I'm not nervous, why do you ask? *casually snaps pencil in half without noticing*.
I'll be participating in eight panels alongside lots of wonderful authors, including some of my own personal favorites. I'll be trying very hard not to go all fangirl on them. I'll also be judging a costume contest and co-hosting the Grand Tea.
