Motor City Steam Con
July 22-24, 2016
Holiday Inn Livonia Hotel
Livonia, Michigan

MCSC Logo2016 is the year of the Motor City Nexus; a convivial hub where you can dock your airship for repairs and R&R on your journey, where you can have a spot of tea and attend a fascinating lecture or workshop, and where you can let your hair down and enjoy the entertainment provided. Have your passports ready and be prepared for an amazing journey!

I’ll be a literary guest and shall participate in some interesting panel discussions. I have to admit that I’m really excited about the Writer’s Block, and how this con is mindful of the needs of writers and the tending of their book tables while they are on panels or elsewhere. And then there’s the early-evening “slumber party” reading in the Writer’s Block, with snacks and an intimate atmosphere at which participating authors are encouraged to come and read—from someone else’s work. Doesn’t that sound fun?

Victorian Christmas Party – December 18, 2015
I’ll be enjoying a Victorian Christmas party by invitation of a local senior/disabled apartment complex. There will be displays of vintage dolls, and hopefully an old toy train will choo choo its way into our hearts.  Stories will be read, and I’ll have my book available for anyone needing a gift, perhaps, for a grand child. I’m designing a special Christmas Steampunk outfit just for this event.

“The Literary World Of New Babbage”
Current episode  of Designing Worlds airing on Treet.tv
First aired June 8, 2015 – Filmed entirely in the virtual world of Second Life
“…this time we are able to meet three of the people closely involved with the development of New Babbage’s Literary output. We learn about the inspiration for this – the determination that what had been created in New Babbage would live beyond Second Life through publications in the real world. And we hear about some of the writers who have been involved not only in the creation of the three Tales from New Babbage books, but in other literary endeavours too.”

Book Discussion at the R.F. Burton Library
Sunday, March 22nd, 20151:00 pm SLT (SLT is Second Life Time, which matches up with Pacific Time in the Real World)
Held in a very sumptuous library in the virtual Steampunk city of New Babbage in Second Life.  This month’s book is The Flight To Brassbright, and I shall be in attendance; sitting crosslegged by the comfy fire on the main floor of the library, probably eating more virtual donuts than I should, while participating eagerly with others in discussion of the first volume of ‘The Brassbright Chronicles’. If you have a Second Life avatar, please join us!   If you’d like to establish an avatar and enjoy all that the Steamlands have to offer, visit the Second Life official site.
